Ghost village populated by art
This is an astonishing film by Agents of Change about a village in Scotland that never was. Built for a group of 500 oil workers, the project was never actually realised and the workers never moved in. It’s not an abandoned village, it never was a village and now a group of 6 artists have taken on its bare walls and turned them over to art.
And it looks like there is still plenty of space for new works so I’m sure new ones will emerge over time. I really like the idea of creating the characters that inhabit the village.
If you’re curious to know where it is, the clues are there…

My family has a holiday home in Tighnabruaigh, about 2 miles from the ghost village. A friend told me about the art & i had to see it for myself. Very impressed! We took a load of pictures & will be sending them to our family abroad (who also know the area). Thank you so much Agents of Change for turning this eyesore into such a place of interest. I heard the village will be demolished soon but as long as it’s there i hope lots of peole will enjoy your work.
PS The picture on the side wall of the Kames Hotel is also very good & will hopefully be around for a long time xxx
