Kevin Caron – Hands On Sculpture
Sculptor Kevin Caron was commissioned by Avondale, Arizona to create a public sculpture. This video is one of a series charting the making of this tree sculpture called “Hands On”
The completed sculpture is now in place and was dedicated yesterday. Congratulations Kevin and keep making the weekly videos.

This sculpture has been a huge success for the city of Avondale. The city has gotten tremendous press, and the sculpture won the 17th annual Best of the West Award for Arts & Culture from Westmarc, a coalition of business, government and civic organizations. People love to see their leaves – each is made from the a metal rendition of citizens’ hands – and touch the trunk. The participation made this a wonderful example for how public art enhances a community.
