Concluding part of the Francis Bacon interview

Concluding part of the Francis Bacon interview

In part 2 of this interview, David Sylvester probes further into Bacon’s uncomfortable relationship with his sitters and their reactions to his paintings.

Aside from Bacon’s incredible openness this interview is interesting as a window into 1960s Britain. An interview just wouldn’t be done like this any more. The interviewer is smoking and half the time they conduct the interview on his bed. Different times indeed.

If you have’t seen the first part of the interview, watch it here first.
