Do you consider yourself to be an artist?
All of the people in this video seem to be art students, but the question seems to get an unconfident response from a lot of the interviewees. I think that’s because when we hear the word “artist” we immediately think , “great artist”.
Why do so many feel they have to compare themselves to Rembrandt?
When did we become so afraid to just be learning?

I was a digital arts students and that question often came during my cursus. And i can say that it’s the most difficult question i ever had to answer. I’ve learnt to work as an artist but right now i don’t consider myself as an artist. “Artist” is just a status, a kind of title that has different meanings for me. I prefer to be considered as a graphic/web designer who uses artistic ways, artistic processes in his daily work ;) Peace.
I think you hit the nail on the head when you say, “Artist” is just a status. Thanks
